This week Friends of Jan Kay arrived to rebuild the L shaped dock, rewire a cabin in Wyoming, build a new porch swing set, and to assist with other projects at Jan Kay.
In the spring of 2018, Jan Kay Ranch was able to remodel some of our cabins. Some of the work included updating lights, replacing the ceiling, and redoing the interior walls.
Jan-Kay Ranch has been a tremendous ministry partner to our church for over 20 years. They have a loving staff who goes out of their way to make our time there extra special. Many of our counselors and staff who return every summer, including myself, have come to consider the Jan-Kay staff part of our family. They work hard to make sure we’re able to accomplish everything we plan for the children and youth each week. I’ve been to dozens of camps across the country and have never felt as “at home” as I do at Jan-Kay. It is truly one of the highlights of my year to take our children and youth out to the ranch for a week of wonderful memories. Many of our campers who’ve grown up and have children of their own are now sending them to Jan-Kay to continue the tradition. Some of the highlights that our campers talk about year round are horseback riding, the bob slide, canoeing, and swimming in the pool. The zoo at Jan-Kay sets their facility apart from any other camp. Waking up to the roar of an African lion is quite a unique experience for campers and one they’ll never forget. I have kids asking to sign up for camp as early as 10 months in advance just to make sure they don’t miss out. I’m thankful to the Lord that He has provided us a place where we can minister the love of Christ to children and youth in a safe and loving environment.
Sincerely, Dan Williams Child and Youth Director Community Bible Chapel
